We are in same position. My hubby hurt his back a couple of weeks ago. He's seeeing a physio at Bupa for a prolapsed disc, its all going well and the physio reckons he should be back to normal in six weeks or so. He's going swimming everyday as well as seeing the physio. On the meds they will ask you about serious problems and operations from what I have read on here. Haven't done them ourselves yet! If its not a 'serious' back problem do you need to mention it? you don't want the doc to recognise that your wife has a stiff back if you can fix the prob in the meantime. We will leave the meds until after back is fixed so no need to mention it...Thats what we thought anyway.

Personally i would only answer the questions you are asked. That is, what we did was answer what asked and only what was asked. That, what i could remember was long standing chronic conditions (6 months or more) and anything which took you to hospital meaning MAJOR issues. In our meds they checked urine, bp, blood speci for AIDS, height/weight and a quick prod of the abdo. Simple as that.
Try not to worry

They don't ask for health records from bupa or GP, they're not allowed to access them. They ask you to provide letters from Dr's or Consultants if you declare a 'chronic' or serious condition. I know this as we have to provide letters for a condition for our daughter. If you declare a prob I think they will thenk ask you to see a specialist as has happened a few times to people on here.
Good Luck

Hi, one of the questions asked on the medical form is, 'Have you ever had':
(h) pain in the back, neck or any joints?

I mentioned my previous condition of sacro-illiac dysfunctional joint (lower back / hip) - gave date of diagnosis, what medication was given (anti-inflamatories) and longterm advice from GP of weight loss and regular excersize (which I did - lost 4 stones and did regular swimming sessions to strengthen muscle structure).

The panel doctor just asked me to confirm wether I had been troubled again, and congratulated me on the weightloss etc.

I have also had my coccyx surgically removed - again no problems with this.

And we got visa's no probs.

I have attached a copy of the form 26 we filled in so you can check out the questions you have to answer.

Hope it helps

Paula

I had a disc removed out of my back last year, put it on the form and am now here in sunny Adelaide.

Good luck,
Paul
