Average pay for Diesel fitters
A guy who's job i filled emigrated to australia and i have since been in touch with him. He's working on the road trains and hgv's and claims he is being paid $34.65 an hour at 50 hours a week. Roughly on current exchange rate thats double what i'm on doing the same work.
Anybody here familiar with the heavy goods vehicle maintenance trade, and does this sound right or is he pulling my plonker. He also claims that if you can get work on the mines ie heavy plant machinary you can earn in region of $150000 a year.
Just cant see it myself???

I agree - we employ such people when needed. Pay can vary from $30 to $60 per hour, depending on skill and experience. (That's self employed rate though so paying tax, workcover and super out of that).
