i thought you had untill you were 45 for the age thing to affect the points.
something we will have to look in to now.
our plan is to save as much as possible so we can be mortgage free when we are over.
any one who know if this is a problem for us please let me know.

45 is the cut-off point for immigration under the skilled-migrant category. The points system is scaled according to:
18-29 = 30 points
30-34 = 25 points
35 -39 = 20 points
40-45 = 15 points.
I am assuming that your husband must be on the MODL but even if this is the case then you must be sure that 'general electrician' will still be on the MODL in 3/5 years time and the MODL by it's very nature cannot guarantee this for any occupation. If it drops off then you will lose 20 points or 15 points depending on whether he has or hasn't got a job offer, respectively.
Also, age is frozen at time of lodgement so if you lodge from 35 onwards you will have lost 10 points compared to what you would get if you lodged today.

we will have to just wait and hope that we will have enough points in the future.
i am going to have to resist from looking at all the info on aus. and checking this site each day for hints and tips or else the next 3/5 years will be a nightmare for all concerned. and then we possibly might not get in......

So far, by your accounts, it looks to be mid 30s to early 40s on average?
I suppose by then we have had just about enough drizzle and cold
wind that we can take.
