By Paul Mulvey in London
January 23, 2005
A WEEK of Australia Day celebrations in Britain opened overnight when one of the world's leading scientists, Sir Robert May, was named winner of the inaugural Australian in the UK award.
Introduced by the Australia Day Foundation in the UK this year, the award aims to recognise the achievements and contributions of the thousands of expats living in Britain. Sir Robert, 69, received the award at a £175 ($433)-a-head dinner at Australia House in central London, where British broadcaster Alan Whicker was named Honorary Australian in the UK.

Does this mean that Australia is starting a push to colonise Britain?! We could send all of our crims there!!! Haha!
Btw, good onya, bondipom, for quoting your source of info. I find it hard to believe some things when people just spout stuff without saying where they get it from! Then there's always the copyright issue - if you quote the source, it's not a problem.
