Australian School term dates.
Hi
Could someone please help with a question I have on Australian school term dates. When we get to OZ in September we will be looking to get our sons in to school, they are 6 years old. The UK school term and year has just ended and the new one starts in Spetember. Is it the same in OZ or do they have different school term start and finish dates. I am just wondering if my sons will be starting mid way or starting a new term.

Hi, Ive got the term dates for SA, it does differ slightly state to state though apparently...
term starts on 30 Jan, so
30 Jan - 13 April then hols
1 May - 7 July then hols
24 July - 29 September then hols
16 Oct - 15 Dec then hols until 29th Jan 07.

you should be able to get them into school from October, to give them a taster and so the school can assess which class they will be in as they differ over there, year 1 here is prep/reception over there etc.
term starts on 30 Jan, so

Hi Jayne,
As far as I am aware the oz school year starts in January unlike ours which is September. Holidays can vary from state to state so it depends where you are moving to. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I'm sure someone on here will have have more info than me. Have you tried going onto the various websites for the area your looking at?
