With the basic Aussie home now consisting of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a decent sized kitchen and dining area, as well as a separate family/lounge area, not to mention a brick paved patio area, double garage and garden, let's face it - life ain't too bad.
Who really needs a games room, a home cinema, etc, etc? Sounds like too much housework to me............

I live in a 2-bed semi which shares a wall with the house next door. I can hear their TV with perfect clarity, right up to 11pm (when it finally goes off). Now that is bad. :scared:
Given a choice between a 4x2 on a 375m block 1m from the fence and 2m from my neighbour's house, or a 19th Century red brick terrace with no parking and no lawn, which shares a wall with my neighbours on both sides, I'd take the Aussie house every time.
In any case, the "4x2 on a 375m block 1m from the fence and 2m from your neighbour's house" is extremely rare; most houses that size are built on at least 500sqm, and have more space on each side.
By contrast, the red brick "no living space" terrace clone is standard fare in the UK, and has been for about 100 years.
