Australian Christmas-New Year holiday road toll figures
AUSTRALIA has recorded its lowest Christmas-New Year holiday road toll for at least six years.
By the time the 2004-2005 holiday season ended at midnight last night, 41 people had died on the nation's roads, compared with 81 at the same time last year.
New South Wales recorded the highest toll with 13 deaths.
Victoria recorded 12 deaths.
Queensland recorded 6 deaths.
Western Australia recorded 6 deaths,
Northern Territory recorded 3 deaths
South Australia recorded 1 death
There were no fatalities in the ACT or Tasmania.
