Same shit, different bucket. Hearing an Ozzy accent in the CBD of Perth most days of the week is 30/70 challenge,at times even English seems to be the 2nd language.

I just seem to hear 'drunken-ese' all the time, followed by bouts of 'F*** you - get a real job. I'm not too drunk. Can't believe you kicked me out/didn't let me in. I'm gonna get the Coffin Cheaters, Sword Boys, Derroes, Rebels, Gypsy Jokers and 258 of my mates and we're all gonna come down and slice you up'.

Edit: Forgot to add that if you suggest sorting out the problem with a one-on-one conversation, as opposed to anything else, they don't want to know. They'll challenge you to fight them outside, one-on-one. Walk towards them and they run away and name/gang drop as they go. However when they're with a group THEN they'll try something.

My mouth and the presence of colleagues gets me out of 99% of the trouble. Surprisingly have only been assaulted once this year, that was in Subi by gang members, who I now drink with on occasion!

Never done a one-on-one fight with anyone and hope I don't have to. Have never had cause to punch anyone.

The casino last year, however - assaulted/injured 4 times in six months. Hellhole of a place!

I dont think of myself as English, because that would be disgusting, I just carry an English passport. I need to get out of here because quite simply, I hate it.

Well you may not think of yourself as English (what are we coming to) but when you get there, I'm sure all those Aussies will remind you that you are a 'distgusting' Englishman/Woman. Get real for gawds sake.

Woken up in cold England with the most glorious sunrise. Last nights sunset was also spectacular. Cold/short winter days like these ain't too bad.

I've got my pompous head on this morning.

It's not all that.

Re: weather... I haven't seen the sun in Brisbane for the past month. It's all cloud, haze and warm rain. :curse:

Not sure how long you've been in Brisbane, but IMO the weather we've having now is infinitely more preferable to the usual oppressive Christmas roasting, skin searing temperatures where it's so hot you can't move.
