Quite a concern when you are raising your family here :) |

If we start going down that road, I might as well post a string of threads on binge drinking, happy slapping, schoolyard stabbings and Yardie gangs and tell people that this is an introduction to "British lifestyle and culture." BTW, how did they arrive at these statistics? Are users of illegal drugs participating in national polls? Is it a new question on the census? Are all the druggies walking into cop shops and letting them know what they've been smoking/drinking/injecting/snorting lately? |

There were 2,589 victims of knife crime in the West Midlands last year. wonder if part of the reason is the surge in drug taking. Quite a concern when you are raising your family here :) I lived in Australia for 31 years, and the drugs scene was never a concern for me, nor have I ever been affected by it - whether directly or indirectly. I suppose it helps that I'm not a drug user myself. :) |

now that's a statistic that worries me. I'm sure Sydney was at least 21.2344433344333557778% worse than London :D |

now that's a statistic that worries me. Generally though, I have enough to consider in my life, worrying about someone I don't know, taking drugs for whatever reason seems pointless. I have taught my children to the best of my ability to stay away from drugs and why. Until it actually impacts my life, I will stay relatively unconcerned. Anyway, as Vash said, how the hell do they know. If you went to any school and asked the 15 year olds if they had tried drugs, the majority would probably say yes because they want to appear "cool" in front of their mates, or some other rediculous reason. |

Australian article Front page of australian newpaper About australians on the australian forum If that is crap so be it  The post had far more place on this forum than your UK godforsaken hole posts ever will. If you dont want to discuss all aspects of australia, including less than wonderful sides to it, dont - Go read another thread. Or you could go back to trashing threads on the moving back to the UK forum  You didnt last long as a troll over there tho :D I can see why by todays postings in the 50/50 thread on there :D |
Re: Aussies in ecstasy
Okay. Let's say that I drop into the 'Moving back...' forum and I post a thread like this:
British school kids are mainly junkies The story's from the Daily Telegraph (a fairly reputable newspaper) so that's okay then. And my credentials? Well, let's face it, I have much more recent and extended experience of the UK than you, so it could be argued that I was merely trying to inform returning expats (some of whom have been out of the UK for a considerable length of time) about the UK in the UK section of a UK site for UK people. Or, it could be said it was a deliberate and very transparent attempt to shit-stir, that served no purpose other than to poor scorn on another country. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/ma...27/ncoke25.xml Well apparently, one in five secondary pupils takes illegal drugs and the use of cocaine among schoolchildren has doubled in a year, which I'm sure you'll agree is a 'bit of a worry'. It might explain the rising crime levels though. So, Sherlock - how do you think my post would go down? And next time you go on troll hunt, have a look in the mirror first... |
