And in the Renth's list of Perth bands, there's one good one missing, but can't for the life of me remember the name!!![/QUOTE]

Does anyone know what the local indie, punk and hip hop scenes are like in Melbourne or Sydney or have any good Oz music links (not Delta Goodram's fansite please)?
Cheers

The godfather of soul, James Brown played kings park a few months ago and more recently Brian Wilson presenting Smile.
I like Aussie hip hop too, bands like the Hilltop Hoods and Perth's own Downsyde, as well as Good Buddah, Resin Dogs, Koolism. The funny thing is most of the rappers sound like Snake from the Simpsons.

Everyone seems to focus on Ac/dc as the wild band Of Aussie, There have been a few other you know. However I want to focus on one band who's female lead singer antics, are still legendary, Chrissie amphlett, and the Dyvynyls, The things that girl got up to performing live, especially in the early years, with her short short school uniform on, quite a few times in local pubs here in Melbourne, she accidently on purpose forgot to wear knickers, whilst cavorting and strutting around wildly on stage, Not only could she sing with a voice that is amongst the best female rockers in the world. she would also do something else that some Germans seem to have a liking for. Yes she has been known to pee on the audience, all for no extra charge.
Talented, wild, and Legendary.
Anyone else seen erm live ?
Good on yah Chrissie, keep touching yourself.

Yup,
I've seen em live a few times now, but lukily for us, we must have seen them on an off night as she never pee'd on the audience that night....
We did love the gig tho, she is awesome and was always a favourite of mine back in the 80's. As were Noiseworks, Mental as Anything, Jenny Morris, Pseudo Echo, Virgin Soldiers, Debra Conway, Weddings Parties Anything, Skyhooks, Billy Thorpe & Aztecs and loads of others...

Not an Aus band but just to highlight that you can get International music in OZ. I went to see Green Day and Simple Plan at Rod Laver Arena last night. Storming show, had only heard a couple of Simple Plan songs but they were very tight. Green Day were superb.
I took my two kids (7 and 10) and they had a fantastic time. I only had one uncomfortable moment. Billie Joe came out on the walkway and said "Its getting hot in here" He then proceeded to undo his flies. He had his guitar in front of him and he was making groaning noises while his hand was behind his guitar. Fortunately my kids didn't understand what he was pretending to do.
