AC/DC
Cold Chisel
The Saints

etc....

most of these bands are labeled as bogan bands but I dont care :-)

Well, I haven`t really been in Perth since `94, but my faves until then were:

Boom Crash Opera
Max Sharam
INXS
Midnight Oil
Crowded House (half the band were Aus)
Silverchair
Things of Stone and Wood

Probably not as rawk & rawl as you`d like though.....

Hi Guys

Only current Oz band I can think of is Jet. Hoping to discover lots of good music though that you don't get in UK.

Bon Scott was born in Scotland. I believe only the AC/DC drummer is what most would class as a "true blue Aussie"

As for Aussie bands, I liked The Vines' first album but they have lost the plot since then. The other Aussie band I rate highly are Spiderbait, especially their older indie style stuff.

At least you have chosen mostly current bands. Everyone else seems to pick bands from 20 years ago, still good though but there are so many good "now" bands in Australia.

Perth, in particular is renowned for producing good bands like The Waifs, Little Birdy, Rhibosome, Bank Holidays, Snowman, Sleepy Jackson, Fourth Floor Collapse, Gyroscope, The Panics. Bon Scott was from Fremantle...
