Default Aus Vodaphone Sim Cards

Can anyone tell me if a UK vodaphone shop will be able to activate an Australian Vodaphone sim card that we got free from www.movingplanet.com/au

We would like to get them up and running before we make the move and from what i understand, activating online has hadit problems (so i am told)

Any suggestions?

Rob

We also activated online no problem and when we got here just started using them. We had a slight problem with one of the cards in that they had not activated the $30 correctly but that was sorted out really quickly with a call to customer services from the mobile when we arrived (and realised he couldn't make a call as it was saying he needed to top up).

I've also now changed ours to a Telstra contract as they offered the option of as many free 3 minute calls between each other as we wanted. Transferring the numbers over from Vodaphone took only a couple of minutes each and all they needed was the date of birth the sims had been registered with. Definitely a much more efficient system than porting numbers in the UK.

I would not expect a UK Vodaphone shop to be able to help as they will be on completely different systems.

Hi Ya
Optus mobile has a good deal, check out www.optus.com.au
The turbo charge option gives you $120 credit for the cost of $30, or $250 credit for a charge of $50. The unused credit rolls over each month up to a max of $500.
My wife is also on Optus and she can call any Optus mobile free (she get 300 mins per $30) as well as $30 credit. This is valid for 2 months.
You can buy SIM cards at the airport and activate then within mins.
Personally I'm glad I waited and bought here.

Hope that helps?
Neil.
