Default aus tax rebate?

OH worked from 1st week in may 06 - 29th july 06 and was paying tax calculated about $3 k
we then left aus
would he be entitled to a rebate and how does he go about it ? the only thing is we dont know if his sponsor had sorted out his tax file no as he wasn't told it and if not would she be witholding the funds so therefor not entitled to anything? or is it automatic?

do your own tax decleration online, out down all your tax deductables and you should get what ever is owed to you via internet banking.
