Attaching USB to car audio
#1
I have a pioneer CD player in my car. By default, it doesn't support attaching USB drive as its an old model. I have heard there a chinese equipment that enables a USB port on such players.. Anyone aware of such a trick and know its details.
Thanks in advance

There is a much cheaper solution though. It transmits the audio on FM frequency, you just need to tune the radio to the correct frequency. The quality is not as good as CD though, but ok.

How good the FM transmitters works seems to depend on the exact model of transmitter, the car stereo and where the car antenna is located. I've had some perfectly fine ones and I've had some really rubbish ones - never worked out any pattern.
OP may be able to add a line in through the Aux thingy, if there is one, by something like this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Add-...-your-cars-st/ . I'd recommend googling the model number.
Having said that, if your radio is an aftermarket one and playing from an MP3 player or USB stick is a big deal, it may be quicker/easier to buy a new car stereo and just slotting it in. IIRC, you can get perfectly fine Sony CD/Radio/line-in players for about $100 or less at pawn shops/Cash Converters etc.
