Assessment of Nursery Nurse Qualifications
Hi,
As has been said you can apply for the the blue card here it is very easy, it is also best to do the First Aid course here as most UK courses are not recognised. You need to complete a 2 day full course. I just googled Red cross, there are loads of courses I am on the Gold Coast also and did my First Aid a week or so after arriving. You may also need to have your qualification assesses so you have a letter to take to interviews to prove you have a child care qualification.
Good Luck
Claire

Given your degree teaching route would seem the way? Allows you to teach in primary or be kinder teacher.
If you just want to do childcare then first link.
EDIT: just seen your other post where you say you can't be teacher because only 3 years. Get your degree and work experience assessed under RPL, you never know you may only have to do a few short courses. Ask QCT about RPL. Include all the short courses you have done in UK in your submission.

Re: Assessment of Nursery Nurse Qualifications
Recognition of Prior Learning takes into account prior education and experience.
My approach would be to approach the unis offering education degrees in QLD and ask for an informal assessment of your experience and quals. Basically, ask if they do RPL, who does it, meet with them and outline your quals/courses/experience and ask for their informal view as to what you would have to do (which electives to attend) to be positively assessed as satisfactory to be a primary teacher in QLD. Meet with a few. Choose the one that outlines the least for you to do. RPL is big in Aus so shop around and find the easiest route.
You are already qualified to be a kinder teacher (I think but you need this confirmed) but in VIC (don't know about QLD) kinders are managed by the parents (which change every year) and the power goes to the head of some of them. Wife(NNEB) is assistant in kinder. I have suggested she trains to be a kinder teacher and she says no way because she doesn't like the politics of managing the new committee every year to be on your side. They seem to spend a lot of time fending off parents with delusions when they should be looking after the kids.
Good luck.
