Hi all we are moving to tapping area of Perth.
Is there any shops like Argos were we can get our electrical things like kettle, toasters, etc. If so can you please advise what it is called and were it is.
Would it be better for us to buy all new stuff here in Uk and get it replugged when we arrive.
please advise as we are getting quotes for the container .
Mick

Argos here is Ikea, its cheap and cheerful stuff. Theres a massive new store that will have everything you need at osborn park
Back in the UK we never went to ikea as it was always to expensive but its totally opposite here, like many things.

Thank God there is no Argos here. What a terrible way to shop. Why can't they just have the stuff on the shelf like everyone else?
I went in one once to buy a sleeping bag, when it eventually came out, I told the woman behind the desk that if I had to wait any longer I might have needed to use it.
I don't think she saw the funny side.
Oz is a place were the supermarkets still pack your bags for you, we don't want Agros thanks very much!

Am very confused since they are totally different. Ikea prices here in Melbourne are the same as Ikea prices in the UK, and Ikea sells exactly the same stuff here in Aus as it does in the UK.
I doubt anyone in the UK would say 'hhmm, Argos have sold out, let's go to Ikea!'. There are overlaps but to say one is the same as the other is totally untrue. Argos is a catalogue shop and there is nothing that I know of that compares in Aus. Whether good or bad, irreleavnt really, but they are totally different...

Yes, and use about 4,000 per shopping trips. Ironic when the the rest of the world is trying to cut back on the use of them and here they have a tendency to put a couple of items in a bad and move to the next one. They have good recycling but maybe a solution is to not use as many in the first place...

agree there is no alternative to argos , so for your electricals go to good guys -as prev poster advised and dont forget to ask 'whats the best price?'
as they discount when you ask and for some stuff there can be quite a bit off (depends if they are trying to clear that particular line) my mate once bought a slow cooker priced at $35 and ended up paying $19 for it!
also for the bigger stuff like fridges, cookers, microwaves etc you may want to try the rick hart seconds store in northbridge- bargains to be had there too and they may discount further from ticketed price if you give it a go.
Regards anything else from argos ie sleeping bags, dining services, quilt covers, etc you will need to go to the appropriate shop. Kmart, target, House, Baines or even try spotlight.
