Areas to live in Perth?

I made the mistake of doing it and then had the pain in the arse drive to school when we bought. Also not great for friends and stuff for the kids. Its only my opinion mind and you guys may not be as intolerant of stuff like that as I am.

Hi thanks for all your replies you have given me lots to think about. We have not got jobs to go to we will be looking once we get out. Martin is a bricklayer and I am a primary school teacher. I think you are right we need to get work and then look around. Can anyone say if there is plenty of work for the above jobs.

Hi I am new to this site and was wondering if anyone could help me. We are moving out to Perth at the end of March that is me, husband and 17 year old son. We have never been to Perth so have no idea at all about where to live. Can anyone suggest good areas and if there are any areas to avoid.
Thanks very much

You might find that being a teacher you will have to initially go to an area of unmet need, i know doctors do.. then again this could just be a load of rubbish and given that Perth needs 600 teachers then that may qualify..

I have heard of that and also read that the accommodation etc provided out bush isn't up to much in many cases. I am only guessing, but if you come over state-sponsored to a vocation like teaching, police you might not get a choice but if you come over independently then apply for a job you can do what you like. Anyone care to confirm or deny?

No problems for a bricklayer.
