Default Areas of High Deprivation

I was wondering if anyone out there knew were I could find information / public health data / indices of deprivation data about Australian cities (similar to what we can get in UK from the Office of National Statistics and the Public Health Observatory. I currently work in the most deprived local authority area in England and it would be interesting to try and get some comparable stats.

Also I would appreciate it if some of you could let me know what you consider to be the most deprived / poor areas of Adelaide and Brisbane and would you advise against driving through those areas. To avoid any arguments or offence to anyone, I think that this would be best done as a private message.

Just over a week to reccie / validation trip.

Regards,
Kelly

Brisbane is very deprived at the moment.

You had better bring your own water

www.abs.gov.au

Australias equivalent to ONS and frankly has a lot more up to date information, higher quality than ONS and wider ranging.
