Default Which area and why?

Hi, my wife and i are hoping to make the move to Aus xmas 08.
I have a huge amount of questions most of which i am sure that i can find the answer on this forum somewhere.

Not having ever been to Aus and probably going blind when we do move, i would be interested to know peoples feelings on why they decided to choose where they intend to live or indeed live now.
We think we have narrowed it down to Adelaide or perth but nothing is set in stone.

Have you got children? What jobs do you do?
Perth is lovely fab weather 7 months of the year great beaches and nice outdoor life.
If you are into clubs you will have to go into the City.
Places to live near the City.Subi,Mount Lawley or train line WAwick,Greenwood, kingsley,Woodvale,Joondalop,Minda ire all near the coast and on train route.
Inner.Noranda,Ellenbrook,Aveley,Vines about 25-30 mins beach n City but close to the hills and loads of restarants and winerys.
Further away look at Mandurah. Can't help South of the City.

My wife is a nurse and i am in the Navy, not sure waht i will do just yet.
Children all in there teens. We would like to live near the sea and about 1/2 hours away from Perth but of course this is work dependant.
