That's interesting. So in theory (I take it), you could have received you letter from the minister, be out of the country and go to the local OZ embassy to complete the citizenship process then? I wonder if it applies to consulates as well?

So, what are the requirements for applying for PR? Is there an assessment process or do you qaulify if you have been in the country for so long etc?

No automatic PR for long residents, sorry.

You apply to work in an Australian International School on a 2 year contract with a view to coming back to Australia. How can this be viewed negatively?
Are you really supposed to pledge that you won't leave the country?
School years - i.e. academic years - don't run to suit delays caused by red tape and bureacratic nightmares.
