Anybody got anything negative to say about life in Oz? It's something we will always regret not emigrating when we had the chance many moons ago. So it will make me feel a little better about the decision if I could read some negative comments. Come on, cheer me up while I look out at pouring rain, pleaaaaase? Anything???

Oz is not paradise. Like all western countries it has very similar problems - drugs, gap between rich and poor, crime - and similar challenges. Anybody who tries to kid you otherwise is talking out of their rear end.

After many years in Oz we had had more than enough. Just search for 'stanton' to get an idea of our gripes. These are our views, and obviously (!) not shared by all. However, unlike many others we have had many years of experience actually living in Oz. We had the material trappings (eg large house in Sydney, pool and shares in 3 planes...). But it eventually dawned that what Oz had to offer was not enough to compensate what we lost moving from UK.

And we've never regretted moving back to the UK, even without the swimming pool or planes.

Yup, Lift/Drag coefficient too high.

Once you've got one any more seems like an extravagance, take it from me.

It's good to diversify your portfolio so I'd recommend not buying into the same aerobatic team from a risk-management point of view.

I've just bought a time-share in a 777 operated by Singapore Air, it's in economy class. Got use of the bogs too, bargain.

Do you get Smoko and Lunch thrown in? and a personal Chauffeur?

You were had! There's a BA 777 with a special on First Class at the moment. Although its really more of a static caravan than a plane.

I'm curious what the point of shares in three planes is.

Why not just own one plane?

I wonder how many people believe their Aussie dream will include shares in three planes?
I bet it's not many.

Well I don't want shares in a plane.

I wouldn't mind shares in a race horse though. :D
