Myself and my patner are looking at moving from Cheshire, England to Australia in the not too distant future.

I am currently serving in the Police in Manchester and would ideally transfer to be a serving Police Officer in Australia.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

I know someone !! he is a guy who went to my college and has been a policeman in Perth for 13 years.

He says it's pretty tough and you now have to spend the first two years on 'Bush Duties' - sorts the men from the boys apparently !!

If its anything like the fire service then basically you will have to start from scratch with the whole selection process and only when you have got through that will they take into account any quals/experience that you may have. also you have to be at least permanent resident to apply. try looking on some of the police websites over there. good luck
