Default Anyone looking for IT/Helpdesk work in Brisbane

Hi Guys,

The company I work for is really struggling to find decent IT helpdesk staff including a team leader position. It is mainly support of end users on the systems rather than network side.

It just occured to me that there may be some Brits out there who have moved over here and are looking for work and maybe I can help someone out?

Just for the record I am not a recruitment agent, I just work at this company. PM me if you are insterested or want more details.

Thanks

May isn't too far away so definitely get in touch when you get here if you are still interested.

Good luck with the move!

Hi,

I won't be there til May either, but what sort of certificates or qualifications are they looking for, just out of interest? It's a case of "I know exactly what I'm doing but don't have any bits of paper to prove it!".

I'll be looking for IT Helpdesk work (hopefully!) in Feb '08!

I currently work as a Senior IT Support Analyst on a desk of 9 supporting ~5000 users across a Citrix environment (MPS3, XP and 1.8), mixture of email systems (Lotus Notes, Exchange and CC:Mail) Blackberry Enterprise, and am well versed in Client OS's windows 3.1 -> XP, and Servers from NT -> 2003. Also not too shabby with MS Office

Hopefully will be moving out next Feb if all goes to plan...

How much does Helpdesk work pay in Brisbane?

Wages up here on the coast seem pretty bad, people start on about $10 an hour and maybe get up to the dizzy hights of $30 an hour!!

I expect that job in Brisbane is paying half decent but it won't be anywhere near as much as it would pay in the UK :-((

Certificates are not strcitly necessary its experience that counts. A lot of our end users are using thin clients so Citrix skills are a must. There are 3 levels of helpdesk support so salary would depend on which level you went in at.

Hi Tonik,

Question, is there scope for flexible working. I will be in Brisbane from the end of next month and some flexible work while I get more organised could be just the thing.

Brian.

It depends what you mean by flexible, do you mean temporary? If so I can't see that being problem as we have people on contracts working here as well as permanent staff.
