Hi, we are from Barmby Moor nr Pocklington, we have just put in for practical for bricklayer and are hoping to be on July one!!
Good idea to meet up and chat, we are looking at Queensland any where between Brisbane and Noosa. How long after submitting practical assessment form and fee did it take to find out if you are on the July one? By the way we are a family of four, Kids 11 (boy) and 5 (girl). |

Hi Mandy, nice to meet you too, my husband is hoping that he will be doing his practical at Accrinton also, looks like the men may meet up first!
We went to the Gold Coast at christmas but unfortunatly most sites were shut down for christmas the same as here so we didn't find out as much as we would have liked! We did however look around some stunning houses and get a feel for the place! Have you been to Australia before? |

Heard alot of info and done research myself about gold coast, especially a specific area called pacific pines. That is where seems popular with brits and heard how nice it is too. So just looking at that area at mo. How about you? Thats great about practical, hopefully our hubbys will meet up and have a chat. I think it better if you can help other families along too as it doesnt seems as scarey if you know someone else in the same boat. How old are you and your hubby? I,m 31 and my hubby 33. Mandy |
Re: ANYONE FROM HULL AREA IN PROCESS OF MIGRATING???
Hi, i am 34 and hubby is 37. Hubby worked in Australia for a year back in 1990 and we went at christmas as i had never been and so kids could see what it is like.
When we went to Florida my husband said it reminded him of Australia and i must admit there are similarities, just the way it looks and the roads and malls! So if you have been to Florida it may give you a bit of an idea. Just my opinion! The beach was lovely at Gold coast and there were lots of parks along the Gold Coast stretch and lots of shops and a big mall. We looked at lots of little Estates which were really nice and of course there are the theme parks nearby! We went to tambourine mountain which was lovely and not too far from there! My husband has family at the Gold Coast and Brisbane so we were lucky enough to have some guided tours! |

Congratulations on ur anniversary. I,ll have been married 11 years in august. Well your 2 girls are about same age as mine so thats good. Just waiting for my hubby to do his practical in july then can submit our main application. were with an agent called access migration, there very very good, really helpful. We are putting our house on market in the next couple of weeks, abit ahead of ourselves, yes i no but when we get visas we want to go without having hassle of selling our house. So we want money ready for us. We are hoping to go early summer next year, maybe a bit before. Just depends on when we get visas. Our agent has told us we should have them january time, fingers crossed. We are looking at Gold Coast, seems a very popular area for brits to move to. Suppose to be new residential area which looks very nice on the housing websites. Are you hoping to run your own hairdressing business in oz then? Mandy |

The gold coast is all surrounding suburbs outside brissie. I no that pacific pines which is were we are looking at is about 45min - 1hr drive to brissie. Dont know about temp accommodation, havent got that far yet. You never know, if we end up going same time we can find somewhere together, I,m sure we,d have fun with all 6 of our kids together!lol I,m an auxilary nurse at Hull royal, but am qualified in business administration so maybe when you get set up, i could be your receptionist at your new salon!!lol Anyway, just tidying up, so will keep chatting as i moving along at home. Hi
We live in Pocklington and I work at Hull Royal Infirmary as a nurse, we are hoping to move to Townsville QLD at the end of the year. I noticed from some of the posts that someone in Barmby Moor is moving out to QLD, sometimes its nice to hear people nearby who are going through the same things. I am also taking along my husband and a 9 year old daughter. Clare |

Hi
We are from York so not too far from Hull. We are ping pong pom's having migrated in 2003 and returned in 2006. Hubby has just landed a job in Brisbane (never been previously lived Nr Melbourne) and we get a relocation package and we are aiming to fly beginning of Aug as I will be 32 wks pregnant and dont want to leave it much later to fly. I am going out while on maternity leave hubby has handed in his notice at work so its all happening rather fast. We are Aussie citizens which makes the move this time so much easier. Jo |
