Hi di90,
I have not used them yet, however Malcom who called me was the owner.
I left a message for luna to call me via a receptionist, She failed to give the message however Malcom personally called me back via his personal mobile phone (the owner) and was very very helpful ... I will ahve no hesitation in using htem when I go to Aussie...
If you look at the webiste it says they go from all ports within England and they are UK in whole service.
Let me know how you get on.

I too got a call from Malcolm today. He quoted me £1595 for a full container, self pack and doesn't include insurance or aqis. And it doesn't include handling fee (approx £30) or delivery of container once in melbourne (price depends on how far you are from the port). To give you an idea, he said that it costs £320 (this is included in the £1595) to take container to midlands and back to Southampton where they will sail.
In my estimate, the total should be around £2100 when you take the rest into account.
Think i will go with them. I have doree bonner and excess international coming round next week for quotes and now thinking of cancelling them - should i?

Therefore that may be why there is a difference in quotes?
Also it's only 50km from Sydney where i will be moving to, so i'm guessing thats why costs may/will vary.

We have had 3 quotes for between £3,360 and £3,815 to Perth. Waiting for 2 more & expect Crown to be over £4,000.
Unlikely to do it ourselves as access for a container is a problem. Stuff will have to be sent to a depot to load into container.
Have also heard self packing can attract more attention from Customs and AQIS, but that might just be a rumour and depend on how busy the importing port is. Might also not get as generous an insurance quote if doing it independently. (1.6% if u insure separately from the removals company - Letton Percival).
Shipping a car quoted £1,750 for sole use 20ft container or an extra £1,400 to include with personal effects in sole use 40fter. Doesn't include all the costs at port of arrival (AQIS, Customs clearance, port fees, vehicle valuer etc etc) or the duty & GST (prob an extra £10,000 in my case!).

I got a quote from Dave at shipit.com (?!) for £3,600 for a 20ft container.. Very helpful and polite. They've been around for 10 years...
They pack over two days and provide a week's free storage at the other end...
They estimate it's 7-8 wks door to door...

Storage is Oz is actually quite cheap. About £30 a week, which when you are paying over £3K is bugger all really.
7-8 weeks is optimistic. 8-12 is usual.

We have gone with Doree Bonner at just over £3600 for sole use of a 20 footer and a competitive insurance rate.

crown and anglia pacific were our most expensive quotes-around £4250.John Mason and PSS were around £3600.Big difference and couldn't see what caused it.I know crown include all your costs at other side but we're only talking approx.$400.
