Do you get those bed thingys if you go Business on Emmirates?? What's the difference between Economny and Business on an Emmirates flight?
Just wondering

I've flown Emirates First quite a lot and dont get me wrong the service is great, the lounges very good but the seats are terrible. Even in first class I would rather fly Qantas/BA/Virgin/Singapore business for such a long flight.
As to the difference between the seats economy to business. In economy you get a seat pitch of 48" compared to 32" economy and a greater recline.
If your going business or first really I'd consider alternative airlines where your guaranteed a flat bed for your money.

Funny thing is, First class seats are often less comfortable - for me, anyway - than business. They seem to be made for six and a bit footers, and for someone six inches less heightwise they are just too far off the ground. My feet hang in the air!
They *are* more comfy when you lie them flat, though. Now that the first class service has been downgraded generally I wouldn't think there's much difference between first and business.

My son and daughter in law booked their flights to come over.
At the airport her mum surprised them and upgraded them to business class, they felt like royalty.
I think this is a cheaper option, and a lot of people do it that way.
If you can afford it, do it, i would.

To me personally the seats the crutial thing. You can offer me caviar and champagne all you like, but its the ability to actually sleep, have a shower and arrive refreshed and good to go. That and I hate fish eggs.....
If its not a completely flat bed (none of that angled nonsense) then really I'd rather fly with someone who does have it.

1. Availability of seats. Many first and business classes are fully booked so it wouldnt even be an option.
2. You pay the difference between the calculated fare of your ticket and the full business price.
Basically its no cheaper at all and you would do better with a flight consolidator and the like and actually get a discount ticket.

whats a flight consolidator? In your opinion what would you say would be the best price for bc? Ive found £1500 with brunei, klm, and lufthansa one way!

A consolidator in the travel industry is a "wholesaler" who buys in bulk flight tickets or hotel rooms at significant discount from airlines or hotel chains. Some consolidators sell to customers directly as well as to the travel agents.

The reality is that 1,500GBP (dont have the pound thingy key lol) for Brunei, klm and lufthansa are about as cheap as your gonna get.
Out of those you mention...I've never flown Brunei but I reckon that if its a directish flight (not a long stop) then they apparently have new flat bed seats. Its a dry airline with no booze of course but value for money.
KLM sucks totally and thats from personal experience and lufthansa has new snazzy business seats but the crap part is that they dont actually fly that route themselves and you'll be on the codeshare partner airline Emirates.
Kinda get what you pay for sadly.

Im not that bothered about flying bus class, its just we just flew out to barbados with bmi and got upgraded into premium economy for an extra £100 each way and it was well worth the money extra space ect the only problem is no one does prem economy to perth. Seeing we were only gonna do the move once i thought it would be nice to pay the ect to bus class but now not so sure. Ive flown with singapore airlines b4 and they seemed fine in economy, will see if i can get a row of 4 sectioned off for us and that wont be too bad i might just upgrade on the singapore to perth sector and see if we can get some sleep. Not bothered about staying over a couple of nights in singapore as i have been b4. I just want to get to perth and get the flight over with, making it a comfortable as possible!

Forgot to say, if money is no object, the best business class flights (taking into account not only seats but also meals, services etc) are - in order - British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Singapore.
Thats based on 15 years experience of international business travel.
If I could afford it I would always travel BA Business Class.
Edit, The worst is Air France !

we have found the best prices on asda-traval.co.uk for business. Also Oasis hong kong airlines are very cheap £1600 for 2 adults and 2 children business class but then you will have to fly with another airline to perth.

I write my reply with tongue in cheek, and there is some experienced replies from frequent flyers which I totally understand and think is well worth the read.
Regardless, I speak from a guy with a family, who has never paid for a business class seat, as it has always been someone else, ie business, thankyou to all my clients, by the way, I did give 110% even though i was still knackered.
But if its your personal fortune you are spending and are on a budget, think what it will buy for your family.
There is so much more that is a priority when emigrating than sleeping on a plane or eating caviar and drinking champagne, which incidentally adds upto £50 anyway, as you cant physically eat drink that much.
I experienced, a lot of hype and emotions, as you are moving 12k miles, do you really think you are going to sleep normally, leaving your life behind and a business class seat will ease that emotion.
say a family of 4 spends £6k on business class tickets, versus £2k one way , thats £4k difference, I'd say 2 months of easy living in Aus, without the stress of looking for work straigght away.
I am speaking purely for myself a working class, chap with no real liquid assets, learning
that emigration costs money if you dont think about it carefully...it can easily spiral out of control reaching that utopia...

Fully understand what you are saying my friend. However its only me and oh and as i have never flown bus class b4, i would at the right price pay for it as, when we do emigrate it would be nice to try the experience. Im a working class lad born and bred oldham and i know the importance of money, but you only live once as far as i am concerned and unless you try somthing you never know. I will only pay for it at the right money and wouldnt go daft i too dont have an abundance of riches. I think maybe if i had kids i wouldnt do it but i havnt right now.
I do take your point and aint bagging you my friend
