Stuff the snakes and spiders - it's the magpies you have to watch out for - they are very capable of drawing blood unless you have an old ice-cream carton on your head with two eyes painted on it

As he cycled passed us my husband and I were falling about laughing at this poor guy and were still laughing when he disappeared in the distance still trying to fight off the bird
Its most probably one of those you had to be there moments but my husband and I still get in a fit of giggles when we randomly remember this and wonder if he ever managed to fight the crow off.

We live on acreage and the snakes are there but if I don't bother them they certainly are not going to waste their energy and least of all their valuable venom on me. If like another poster you are silly enough to put your bare hand in a wasps nest it is extremely painful, but at least a learning experience that may save me from worse in the future.
Steve'o's link says it all but Badge's time could very well come eventually.
The most dangerous thing you are going to find in Australia is in human form and driving a rather large rear wheel drive automatic car. Be afraid, very very afraid.
Oh and on a day to day basis the big yellow thing in the sky is probably more damaging than anything else for you and your family in the long run.
