We're in the area and are going to put our daughter to Buddina Primary and rent in the area - is there anyone in this area or arriving soon?

Any comments/thoughts/experiences would be a great help.

Hubby is a plumber - are there any plumbers out there going through or having gone through the licensing process?

We are living in Mooloolaba, have been since last January, originally arrived in Brisbane but came here after a few days to see the ocean and stayed. Have 2 kids, both started at Mooloolaba Primary school (very friendly), one now moved onto Mountain Creek High School. There seems to be quite a few british around here, we've met and made friends with several families. Mooloolaba house prices went thro the roof just before we moved here so we bought a house at the peak of the housing boom, property seems to be dropping a bit now (although not greatly). Work wise, pay generally not very good, apparently "people come to the coast for the lifestyle not the money" or maybe thats just employers excuses! The local newspaper seems to have plumbers jobs advertised very regularly.

Locals are friendly and the place seems to be relatively low on crime (compared to big english cities). The kids love the place and the freedom they have here.

We have been living in Mooloolaba for 5 months. I have a daughter in Mooloolaba Primary and a son in Mountain Creek High. I would agree with gotthevisa's post. However, we have not really met many people yet - our fault really. The work situation here is not great, but the lifestyle is.
