Don (Eastway) reckons we should put aside roughly $1500 for the other side between quarantine etc which doesn't seem too bad. My sister is getting quotes on getting the container delivered to her house (she lives in Melbourne) and she reckons it won't be too expensive.

At the end of the day I suppose it just depends on what suits. I'd prefer to unpack myself and that when we get there as we'll be moving into rented accommodation for the first few months so no point in unloading all the stuff

I'll keep you posted!

So when are you planning to go?

Anyone use or get a quote from careline?

Sorry, so busy packing to move out. Its a great feeling handing in your notice and telling everyone your plans.

My timeline was not quite the norm as we had twins in the middle. But we applied in Oct 06 and had Visa in April 08. So you can pretty much subtract 7 months from that. Anybody with very young ones heading to Perth?

I know though, that this time next year we will have been there 6 months and will be loving it!

Does anyone know an Irish company who can transfer pensions over? also, a bank account that can be set up from here? we have a lot of UK based company information as we used the Visa Bureau in London, but nothing Irish side
Congrats Lettik, welcome to the beatiful dream come thru. there are two banks i know which cross the water- Commonwealth and HSBC. Don't know about the pension, I though the pension should be frozen until it is at its release date. Over here a pension is called 'Super' and under completely different legislation.

Just a thought ,-- I hope you have included the twins in respect of thier visa's and their passports. I know its obvious but it has happened when you have a child while doing the process....

Sorry can't help you with this - my sister used Crown a couple of years ago and found them good.

See if you can find scrum on here and see who they used perhaps.

hi folks, can we join the gang?
we are Debs, Martin and the two boys - 2yrs and 1yr old (Irish twins -LOL!) living in malahide, dublin
cant make up my mind where to go, one day its deffo Perth as have 2 cousins there, and its great for families
then next day its Brizzy/Gold Coast, cos its more central to everywhere else, and maybe better for the kids when they are older.

arghhhh its so hard to decide isnt it?
what made all you lot decide where to go? was it jobs? family? weather?

we are looking at early next year now as we are in the process of
re-applying for TRA, which has taken months extra to organise, still... in the grand scheme of things, I suppose its only a few months
I just cant wait to say

Hi All,
Well the shipping container came on Thursday and fingers crossed will reach Melbourne by the 26th June. We used EASTWAY Logistics in Limerick and they were very good. We only paid €380 to insure the contents for €25000 so delighted with that. Will let you know how I get on with them.

House is practically empty but thought it would be easier to survive HERE without furniture rather than waiting on the other side.

39 days and counting til flights!!! Have Xanax ready
