any call for european languages teachers in oz?
I really want to emmigrate as i've had enough of living in Britain. Apparently I have enough points to get into Oz and I really fancy moving out there and getting away from the UK. I was just wondering if there is any call for European languages teachers in OZ or is it all languages such as Japanese?

The primary school my girls go to does French, German, Latin and Japanese. They do one year of each (from Yr 3 - about 8 years of age), and then in Yr 7 they choose what language they want to do. THe idea is that it exposes them to various languages at a young age. It is a private school, so it may be differrent at government schools.
There are also international schools here in Sydney i.e German, American etc, so they might be worth approaching.
Best wishes

hmmm i'm secondary trained and can teach french, spanish and italian, with spanish being my main subject.
i'm just wondering if i'll have to do some extra training to specialise in something else before applying to move.
i suppose the best thing to do is contact one of the emmigration agencies over here and see what they think my chances are.
thanks for your replies

My sister-in-law is a French and Indonesian teacher (in Melbourne) with most of her teaching the former.

Re: any call for european languages teachers in oz?
wow - so many languages!!
i'm afraid i have no idea where to go in oz. i fancy oz or nz and i haven't decided which yet, but it seemed from initial checks that i had enough points for oz but not nz.
i've lived in the usa and south america before now. i've also worked in italy. i just know i'm not happy in britain, i don't fit in, my personality is too warm and open and the climate here is far too cold!
i just want somewhere warmer and sunnier and, due to my boyfriend, somewhere that speaks english.
i'm going to do a fair bit of research on the two countries and then decide where to apply in the new year. life's too short to sit around unhappy with unfulfilled dreams!
