hello me again!
are there any bricklayers here that live on the gold coast?
we will be moving up there in 7 weeks our last chance of staying in oz
is there much work going on on the goldy?? i really hope so!
if there is anything usefull you can tell us...please do!

The Gold coast is booming so there should be plenty of work. We have been told that people have just gone to building sites to ask about work and have been offered jobs. You could always start work on our house as it's 3 months behind .

sounds good to us, i wouldnt personally be able to do work on your house but hubby would!
we will be visiting in a couple of weeks to check it out, fingers crossed!

Was going to post the same reply. Try the northern end of the Goldie as there are heaps of new developments going on all the time.

30/35 mins on the Pacific mway. 45 mins on the Gold Coast highway.

In an article in the Gold Coast Bulletin late last year, brickies were getting paid more than doctors per hour!

As we are in the industry, some of the building companies are slowing down their production of new homes as they have not got the skilled workers to take new jobs. They now have to complete projects before taking on new ones.

Demand is there and we know of guys coming up from Melbourne on working holidays.
