I had a merena coil fitted in the UK before I left for Oz. It was very painful for about 30 seconds on insertion and I had around a week of mild cramp-like discomfort. I'm probably not far off the old menopause and this has been a godsend!! (periods changed from very light and only for 2 days to very heavy and agonising when I hit 42)
NO periods, NO pain........aagghh bliss!! :D
