I was not knocking you personally, it was a general comment, even though it was on your thread.

Its a good job that not everyone migrating calls Adelaide. No visas would get issued.

I agree they should have some kind of web based tracking system.

"Just for reference for other people who may be reading this thread, the post office do an international signed for delivery service so you can be reassured that your item has been delivered.

Checkout http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/p...&catId=5000003"

You need to be careful with this service though, as we discovered. Royal mail passes the package on to the Aussie Post who then have it signed for. The problem comes when you want to track it and Royal Mail tells you it can take up to four weeks to check with the Aussie Post to see if it has arrived, not what we had imagined when we paid for the service.

The next time we used UPS - more expensive, but worth it for peace of mind.

Might be a better option that the delivery service Boomie used. Could save all that anguish and calls to Adelaide! :D

Checkout http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/p...&catId=5000003

or ParcelForce do the same kind of thing with free online confirmation of delivery or proof of delivery for an additional charge. http://www.parcelforce.com/portal/pw...&catId=4800007 with additional compensation up to £2,500. ;)

nice bit of updating there!!!!!
;)

Now have to say parcel force would more than cover it...... lol

A change recently now meands that all UK Doctors now HAVE to send the medicals off themselves, we are no longer allowed to send them off so as usual its all in the hands of somebody else regarding our future ........:)

Not wanting to put a spanner in the works for anyone but........

Signed delivery doesnt equate to docs landing on right desk or in right file.

We had nightmare time with Berlin embassy cos they lost Chris's blood test results somewhere inside the embassy. They accepted that they had been recieved, but were just going to shrug their shoulders and do nothing until I started shouting.

personally I think phoning to check they have been recieved and filed correctly is acceptable, but then after our experience I'm biased :D

Guess the UK doctors are still pretty cr*p at doing a simple job then!

We had our meds done in Perth and the doctors gave us different options on how they could be posted with different confirmations.

All worked fine and we received a nice postcard from Adelaide saying they had received everything. :D

Hello

I think we must've been really lucky with our Doctors then, we had our Med's mid Feb and was given the option of taking them away to send ourselves or the Dr's sending them off for us. We chose to collect them and hand deliver them to our Agent (lives about 5 miles up the road - conveniently!) for him to include in his Courier pack, which is all signed for at Adelaide.

Having said all this, I quite agree that there should be a system of acknowledging recepit of Med's etc, as it is fairly expensive to do the med's etc.

Just wish ASPC would get a wriggle on the pre-grants, they've had our med's for about 6 weeks now!!

Josie
