I imagine there will be lots of work here, so many rentals I look at dont have air con and need someone to install it!

as for finding work before you arrive, it is very unlikely, every company wants to meet people before they employ them. Regarding a working holiday visa you will only be able to work for a company for 3 months only. This is a bit of a spanner in the works, as 3 months is just enough time to settle into a job then you will have to leave.
