Default British curriculum school in Sydney

Hello, Would anybody be able to suggest British curriculum schools in Sydney for me please? We haven't decided where to rent/buy our house yet, so any where not too far from Sydney CBD (less than 40 minutes drive) would be great. Thank you very much!

There aren't any British curriculum schools in Sydney - or anywhere in Australia for that matter.

Why would you want one? Don't you want your children to go to school with the locals?

LOL Australia has its own education system and it doesnt fare too badly against the rest of the world. It's not as if this is a third world country needing an international curriculum!

Closest you may come to it are the few schools which do the IB but no idea where they may be in Sydney.

I'm sure Australia schools are very good, but we will be staying in Sydney for only 2-3 years for work, so I would like my girls to be able to seamlessly transfer back to her schools in England.

They'll probably have to repeat a year on returning to England.

Ah, well they will go backwards then. You could home school with a British curriculum if you were desperate but would need permission from the NSW dept of education

Hardly going to be seamless if the Academic years in each country run totally differently:

Australia - Jan til Dec
UK - Sept til June/July (NI being June)

Good luck in finding what you're looking for, as quite frankly, you may never find it!

We've been here for 2 years and there is no way our children would "seamlessly" fit back into UK system

But as the others have said, this is Australia and the education system is different here as are many other ways of life. Unless you are prepared to home school, there is no way round that.

But that is not to say that all schools and education is bad here, just different with more/less emphasis on some subjects that we expect in the UK.

Good luck

Sam

What about IB? Would that make it easier?

It's not a big deal so long as you're not going back in halfway through GCSEs or A-levels.
