Adelaide, 10 June. On Meet 'n' Greet service and Immi Dept have arranged 3 month cheap rental accommodation. Can't wait, Won't wait, husband wants to bring flights forward!!

We watned to go to Perth originally but got talked into State Nomination - who cares I'm gonna be in Australia next month.

Hi Daffy, I'll be interested to know what the meet and greet is like. Shellypuss stayed in it in Sleaford Rise for 3 weeks, dodgy area apparently.

Any feedback useful as not sure whether to go for it as a back up plan or not. We arrive 2nd July though...

I'll definitely let you know how we get on. I emailed Malcom (one of the meet and greeters) to ask about the areas and his reply was something like "you don't get rough areas in Adelaide". I don't know but we will soon find out.

I have to email the Immi Dept a week before our flight to confirm we are still going and hopefully I may be told where it is we will be renting.

It's a bit scary but hey its a roof over our heads and a place to sleep as soon as we arrive. The last time I went to Oz I arrived in Perth and knew no-one and no-where. I had to search for a hostel. Mind that was 13 years ago and I was young and carefree and had no kids to worry about.

Hopefully I can access the site from some Internet cafe until we get our own system up and running.

No worries mate - we'll just hop on the bus and pop over to Perth. Can't remember quite how long it took the last time I did Adelaide to Perth, but it was about three days - mind had plenty of the amber nectar to keep me going. That was when I was a backpacker!!!!

My Hubby aked me why do you read about these people going to Australia, I said it is because when I read posts like this you can almost feel the joy of these kids going to start a new life......i'ts magical almost..... he said as long as you dont want me to go thats o'k, so I told him they dont take "old Farts" like you I'ts only for the young.........LOL......

Please tell her she looks very .....cool...... LOL......
