Agents fast or slow
Not sure what to do ,husband and i would really love to be in australia now as i know so many of you would, but what a waiting game ,we have instructed a agent ,paid the first amount of fees ,and have filled out two amounts of forms[ 1];visa information form[ 2] pre migration form but being the most impatient person i am ,just want to get the TRA form done .We have applied for these forms ouselves and they seem really easy to fill in, we have collected loads of information on my husbands skills ,one more week and we should have all the information required, but do i take the gamble and do it on our own, or should i wait for the agent to get intouch with us.
I know agents are there to help, and make sure you have filled in the forms properly , but do they slow the whole application down, all we want to do is get the application started, and not fill in pre forms ,why are these forms so important to the agent .what should we do are we trying to run before we can walk?
How long does it take for a agent to assess which visa to apply for my husband is a bricklayer, and is on the MODL list.

Personally, I'd go with the agent. The TRA part is the most convaluted of the application process; if you get it wrong and get turned down it will slow up the main body of your application. If you've already paid the fee, I'm guessing that there won't be a total refund if you instruct that the agent is no longer to work on your application - so you might end up out of pocket too.
Our case was straightforward and we could have filled in the TRA on our own. However, we used an agent. They included much more detail than we would have done and more evidence. Even if your case is straightforward, they can be sure of getting you through, while you don't have the experience to know for sure that what you're doing is right.
The whole visa process is an exercise in patient endurance! Stick with it.

I dont think Agents slow your case down at all - espcially if you have a good one. If based in Oz they receive communications from DIMIA a week or so before UK based ones and so can ask their clients to action any request in advance via email etc.

Hi there
If you have already paid your agent, stick with it, the TRA is the most difficult part, this is the bit you will need most guidance with. Some agents also have specialists, ours has an ex TRA employee.
Good luck

stick with the agent , it would be much better to take your time an now you've done it right than rush and fail and more imprtantly start again.
Peace of mind is worth its weight in gold...eespecially if you are unsure.
