Hi everyone
Although we are still patiently waiting for our Queensland State Sponsorship (5 months so far!) I am still considering moving out to the Gold Coast Nov/Dec if the visa comes through. However having not been to the Gold Coast before I am wondering if climate wise it would be an unwise time to move? How is the weather in the Summer exactly, is it so humid you can't breath? I can cope in any type of conditions, I'd rather be boiling than freezing anyday but don't want my young kids to be put off. Is it too hot to play outside even?
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers, Thereze

We moved to Oz last summer (ie December 2008). It was perfect for us, and specially for the little one (She is 10 years old).
Firstly, Schools were closed for the summer holidays so it meant that we managed to do our fact findings for best school for her while at the same time, she went with Mummy and enjoyed the Oz summer! (beaches, rock pools, body boarding, barbecues in the park, music gigs etc...) -- plenty to do for kids
It can get really hot, but not the muggy type in general. What you can do is get some fans (a must), and/or make sure you a good size fridge (for those chilled beers of course!)
And my last advice? Get a lot of sun creams!!! (And a hat or two).
Apart from this: Enjoy! (plenty of barbies in the park, evening glass or two of your Chardonnays, the breathtaking views, the friendliness of locals)

Thanks for the reply, it has made me feel much happier, especially knowing it's not especially muggy. Bring on the sun!!!! Fingers crossed for the visa to come in time now
