hi all

we're now seriously(even though we're still a long way from the actual move) thinking of moving to adelaide. the problems is which suburb. my wife has been looking into hallett cove. We are a (fairly) young family with two boys 1 and 3 so schools are a big part of the decision, im going to be looking for plumbing work so thats another thing to think about. any info on hallet cove or other suburbs offering similar

cheers

I'll add Hallet Cove into the ozburbs site later on this morning for you.

I've never been so can't really say what it's like, but I haven't heard anything bad about it.

It's not bad, a very established area but quite hilly in parts. This means more sea views.
Popular with settling Poms, it has been nicknamed "Little Britain".

We have friends there.

Not knocking it or anything.

I'll have to look at the Ozburbs site myself, could add a few down my way.

So it's like Mawson Lakes then (only with sea views and hills obviously)

Can't comment on the 'Pom' situation but Hallet Cove is similar to Mawson Lakes in that it is rather sterile and contrived.....much rather an older established suburb with mature gardens and larger blocks.

Yeah, me too.

It is a nice place (Mawson Lakes), got lots of little play areas for the kids and dogs but the houses are just so small (well the ones we could afford anyway ) and it's very bland. I couldn't have lived there any longer than I did (9 months).

Although I have lots of rellies and mates there that all love it so it's all down to taste I guess.

Old mate of mine has moved to Hallet. I warned him about staying away from new burbs . But the pictures seem to indicate its on the beach so OK.

OMG! I thought the point of photos were to SELL the property....not keep away potential viewers

The first picture looked SO promising too

Looks like quite a few rentals we looked at mind!!!!!

I didn't look but I suppose it's a way from any decent civilisation too??
