Most of the schools take from zones, so obviously we need to be in the correct zone etc, etc...Ive heard lots of good thiings about Brighton High School so I suspect that one is full. I will just have to make some calls a little nearer. Its swings and round-a-bouts, plus I'm a born worrier [Capricorn trait I think]

I'm Aquarius, so don't worry about anything

I think for the most part kids will learn what they want to learn irrelevant of what the schools is like. My oldest son went to one of the worst schools in the UK, but he's gone to Uni now and is studying Computer Science which is a really hard course to get into. My younger son went to a school with a better reputation and he didn't learn anything really or is that just boys, never do what you expect

You're main worry is to try to be near your work I think, the kids will be fine

I'll ask my cousin though, she's quite clued up on schools here. Are you wanting primary or high schools, or both?

Just high school,
I know youre right, he will be fine, got so many things to think about all at once I suppose, but some definate "don't send him There" comments would help.
I have had one comment like that about a school which I won't mention [hypocrit] in southern coastal area.
I must try and relax about it all, its the same for everyone!

Brighton is full and has a wait list at the moment. We tried to get our daughter in. There are a few schools in the northern suburbs to steer clear of as well as at least one in the south, at least according to the principal at my kids' primary school. PM me if you want more details.

I have a job working in print when we get there but the missus will be looking for work in childcare, she is very well qualified in this area and is working at management level here in the uk.
Not sure how her qualifications will translate over in oz though.
I am really into music - being an indie-dad, I love the variety of music channels over here and going to gigs etc, there seems to be quite a vibrant music scene going on over in Melbourne but I'm not sure about Adelaide.
Also can anyone tell me if there are digital radio broadcasts over in Adelaide?
Should I bring my digi radio with me?
Hello simon and family.
Just joined this forum after reading what you wrote. We are also a family of 5, myself(steve, the misses and 3 beautiful girls (15, 6 and a 1 years old).
I am in print and we are also looking into adelaide due to the type of visa I can get.
I have searched many sites looking for job in print and to be honest there is very few but it is nice to finally hear someone else in my trade going to oz!!
I would be greatful if you are able to answer a few questions for me.
I am a number one machine minder on web presses. How easy was it for you to get your job before leaving the UK.
I have e-mail some companies but with no luck
We are planning a trip to adelaide in july and intend to visit some printing companies to hand out my CV.
Did you register with an agency or do it alone.
I would be grateful for any advice you are able to offer me.
All the best with your move in july
Steve & family.
