Hi steve
Thanks for the reply, very interestedto hear that you can work under the companies licence, as was worried at how i was going to get it sorted. I have seen that people have said that the money is less, but from looking around have found that it is not the case. Good luck with everything.

My penny's worth. We'd been to Perth twice before and fell in love with place and based our decision to move on perth. during the migration process we didn't have enough points for perth, but ok for adelaide, having relatives there too, we decided to go for a Rekkie for a few weeks.
my initial reaction (again, sorry to offend) was OMG. so glad i hadn't got visa, and arrived here! i'd have sobbed. i felt bad enough cos at the time thought it was adelaide or UK. Must say though, after a few weeks (and big help from relatives there) i did start to fall for the place. to generalise in a clumsy way, i'd say its just like UK in the 80s? everything looks like it needs updating etc. That said, people were fantasic, scenery great, lots of beaches as well as the hills for the greenery. we decided if it was adelaide or UK, we'd still go adelaide but felt the kids would be leaving us as soon as they could!
that said, we've now got our go-anywhere visa, and it would seem foolish of us to go there. we know perth has changed since we last went, with prices etc, but we've got to give it a go. seems silly to be able to go anywhere, but then go somewhere that most people only go to because of the state sponsorship way in. our main draw was having rellies there, we know no one in perth, but we still prefer perth and think from the kids perspective there's more opportunity.
good luck in whatever you decide. if it was me, i'd go there initially for a few weeks to get vibes of the place, then decide. i know you cant get a feel for a place after a matter of weeks, but your heart will guide you in whats right i'm sure.
