Accomodation in Sydney for one night
Hello
Next year May we are flying to Sydney. I was one of the lucky ones that managed to get flights to Sydney via Virgin Airlines.( special offer based on Flintoff's runs in the Ashes). Cost £339 per ticket.
We are flying to Mackay from Sydney and we would like to stop over for a night. Can anyone suggest a reasonable hotel close to the airport. It is basically to get some rest. Will be for two adults and two boys (5 and 4 ).
Many thanks

Hi Aud, we stayed in Sydney for the night both on the way to & back from the US earlier this year. On the way over we stayed at the Holiday Inn near the airport, here's their page on wotif

Hotel is what you would expect from a large chain & near the airport.
If you want dirt cheap, on the way back we stayed at Formula1 near the airport - cheap as chips ( ), but you can certainly tell the difference. But to be honest if you really do just want a bed for the night (which is what we wanted, flew in at 10pm & out again at 6am), then its clean, tidy & functional. There are no phones or fridges in the rooms. Cost about $79 for the room (tha was for 4 of us). Cant find a weblink now, but Im sure you could either call & book or just turn up (its NOT the sort of place that would be booked out )
