It's amazing. A guy involved in murdering 202 innocent people including 88 Australians is out after 24 months inside but Schapelle Corby has another 24 years to go.

Maybe the sentence reflects intelligence, or lack of it? Bashir knew what he was doing and was willing to pay the penalty. Corby thought it was a quick way to raise a few dollars. At least Michlle Leslie, the other pretty but dumb girl the get caught in a high-profile smuggling case, had the sense to pretend she was muslim to get away with a lesser sentence.

it just goes to show that smuggling dope is far more henious a crime than bombing people discriminately. (not that I condone drug smuggling, but it does give out a strange message)

Arguably it ruins just as many lives, just not in such a visible way? I appreciate that drug addicts have more responsibility for their own actions than bomb victims but I don't suppose many druggies set out to ruin their lives at their first joint or line. Bombers are heinous but don't think anyone involved in drug profiteering is a "good" criminal. They are often controlled by violent gangs and use profits for terrorist causes.
PS I am in favour of legalising soft drugs. I had a friend at uni that was a bastard when drunk who beat his girlfriend but was the nicest guy around when stoned.
