my wife has just got her 457 and my self and our two sons aged 19 & 14 have been granted our own 457 without retrictions for work or travel for four years. So long as my wife complies to the conditions of the 457 But we were on the original sponsers application.
we cant wait to go just trying to sell our bloody house

Why would you want to accept the cost and restrictions of a franchise rather than setting up your own business? Many people avoid franchises in favour of independent service providers (on the basis that someone who really knows their trade doesn't need to be in a franchise).
And you do need to be aware that if your wife doesn't get permanent residence, you will have to leave your business behind or sell it for whatever you can get.

Would take a lot of advertising to get my name across to get the same level of enquiries as a franchise

I no what you are saying walshy, we have 3 buyers but they cant sell thiers. we have a big house so its sort of the top of the chain. check out rental prices in Noosa. WOW still trying to suss out all other costs. Are you going to carry on being an estate agent over there? Lots of exams unlike the uk.

Im getting out of the rat race, going to buy a garden maintenance franchise, get a yute and live the aussie life, maybe set up by myself but at the moment franchise seems the best bet.

Its a pain with the market here as we have a lot of equity so could get ourself a loveley house over there, but might be better to rent it anyway incase we hate it and come home, gives us a monthly income over there as well initially.

We are going on my wifes 457 got 4 years to sort out perminant residency. I,m 48 I dont wanna be coming back. We are the same property rich cash shy we should get enough rental to cover the mortgage here and the rent there. I too want to live the aussie life. I want take my boat and my car, but I think the car thing looks difficult. The problem the time runs from the date they are issued not the date you arrive. You cant leave a job rent your house to then be declined your visas. Of course that then all takes time about 3 months minimum.
