Friend of mine asked me this question, and I thought this would be the best place to get the answer.
How does one go about becoming a permanent residence after being granted a 457 visa? 457 VISA was the best option as she was over 45 & qualified nurse. Has been sponsored , can she apply for permanent residence straight away.
Many Thanks

There are a couple of options but not guaranteed.
Probably better talk to a migration agent.

Thanks for your reply, definately will have to get a migration agent. What are the options for 50+ people trying to get permanent residency,on a 457 visa.Does it help having a child with PR.

A child with PR might help - you could possibly look at the Contributory Parent visa if the criteria are met. No 45 age limit or skill assessment - criteria are different. Again, look at the DIMIA website. But because of the high charges, ENS/RSMS would be preferable.
