Unhappy 457IE (Long stay visa).. Anyone Still waiting......

We are currently in Perth WA waiting for our 457 visa which was
lodged 24th Jan (5 and a half months ago!) Medicals have been
back for 2 weeks now. Everything they need is in now. Does anyone know how long you have to wait once DIMIA have everything for an answer... ?
Would love to hear from anyone in same situation or who is
waiting or has had 457 approved already..

We had a delay on ours but still managed them in 2 months (1 was delayed further because of medical reasons - that took 4 months). Have you got an agent - can you follow it up - this seems an awful long time

Sorry editing to ask - it is a 457 long stay business - Yes?

cheers

Hi Sandra, Thanks for your speedy reply, yes we do have an agent but they are frightened to e mail London because they have said that 'If we harass them it will put their backs up and cause further delay'. Our application was also delayed through Medical problems but everything has been back for 2 weeks now
and our visa expires here in Perth 23rd July and we are not sure
if we can extend our stay as we have already been here nearly 9 months! We may have to go sit and wait in Bali but as things are going we could be sitting there for years!!!
Yes it is the 457 long stay business visa.
Are you an agent? And if yes, does everybody get a 457 visa, as
we have heard that everyone does.
Many Thanks
Lynda and Terry

Not an agent no! Just someone who went through hell!!! I am not sure we are chatting about the same visa, this is the visa that you are sponsored for by a company as an employee?

My sponsor got me an agent and we applied over here after coming into the company on visitors/business short 3 months ones - how have you managed to stay for 9 months?

The agent was basically not up on medical issues and we had to get a bridging visa for our daughter as we were refused the 457 on medical grounds at first - George Lombard on the other site is a agent and gave us decent advice about our appeal.

a 457 ie is different than the 457 business

Hi Sandra,

Yes think we are tallking about different visa, sorry didn't realise there were two different visas, we are applying for the 457 IE long stay visa, where you buy a business and then after 2 years
can apply for PR... You say that you were refused for medical reasons at first, hopefully this means that you appealed and were
successful!

Best of luck - yes we appealed and got a favourable outcome - we have since managed PR - Anyway best of luck, and if you haven't called before I would assume one call would not be termed as 'hassle'.

Cheers Sandra

Hi Sandra, How nice you have PR! The thought of going all through this again for that... we will be totally grey by then!
Thanks for your help we are going to call the agent on Monday morning and put our foot down.
Best wishes and thanks for your help.
