We live in Adelaide too - the north east - and have been here 14 months now and think its absolutely fantastic
At the end of the day life is what you make it so you have to put yourselves out there to make friends, and we have some fantastic mates here now that really I ever wondered how I ever coped before I met them
You will love it when you do come here to live, but it will be hard to start with but everything gets better with time.

Hi there!
Personally I think you've made the right choice! Adelaide is a laid back, easy going "big town". We have fantastic beaches and some lovely suburbs to live in. The city is very inviting too, especially central market on a friday night!
And of course, we are the "festival state" If you want entertainment, we've got it all going on here!
I've been here 8 months and loving it!
The very best of luck

You'll enjoy Adelaide, it's an astonishing place to live. Little traffic, really friendly people, clean as a whistle and not too pricey. It has been soooo good to us I can't begin to say...it's a charmed place. Loving it!

...I am going 'home' to Adelaide for 9 days next month. I can't wait
I have been so terribly homesick since I came to Perth but I met my OH and he has all his family here....3 children and 4 grandchildren. I have my brother and his family in Sheidow Park....and all my wonderful friends. I love Adelaide to bits
I knew you lived there, so when you went to Queensland I thought perhaps you didn't like Adelaide
You don't realise until you move to another city. The thing is, he rarely sees his family....I think he should have moved to Adelaide
...mind you, he does love it so he is looking forward to going too.Love to you both.....Bin

Hey there
Us too! We've been here for 7 weeks now and are living and loving it in Seaford Rise. I am a midwife and hubby is a nurse. Andy has a job within a hospital but also does some agency to top up the earnings (I am being really slack and haven't sorted my transcripts out yet) but intend to after christmas! Give us a shout if you want any info

For those in Adelaide, there is a meet in January on Saturday 12th at the botonical gardens. It would be lovely to see anyone who is here and put a face to the name.

Hi everyone have just had abit of bad news today, we have got just 10weeks to go until we moved to port lincoln in SA, when at 2.30am we have just been informed that hubby's [U]Prospective[U] employer has now relocated us to another part of SA called Port Pirie.
My hubby and I spent 2 weeks in port lincoln looking at schools and hiring a builder to build us a property, not including the expense of it all. This was all to make sure we where making the right decision.
He even turned down a post in Queensland as the area looked much nicer and now our world has been turned upside down.
You can amagine how furious I am today, the man hours I have put in searching for removal company Quotes, instructing real estate agents, I've paid for flights, accommodation etc etc You've all been there.
Can anyone tell me what port Pirie is like, the good and bad points.
cheers
jayne
