Default 15 boxes full of stuff.....

As we're only taking our personal stuff to Oz, we estimate that we will only need to take about 15 Tea Chest sized boxes.
As this will not fill a quarter of a container, can anyone advise us the easiest and cheapest way to send it there. ie. is it practical to send it by airfreight, also can we pack it ourselves?

All of the usual shippers, e.g., Anglo Pacific, PSS, Seven Seas, etc, can ship cartons that you pack yourselves. You might think you only need 15 cartons but I suggest you get more and return any you don't use as it's esy to underestimate! The more you send, the cheaper it becomes per carton.

Thanks for replies, I read that a carton measures 19x19x19 inches, oh dear that's small, maybe we need about 20 or more!

Hi Gra,

The Chizeroos are our 4 children, they're coming (going) to Oz in October, YES you should be worried!!!!!!

There are many different sizes of cartons. The following is the Anglo Pacific list but I'm sure all other companies are similar. The first figures are L x B x H in inches and the second in centimeters. The 'standard' size is the 4.5 cu ft tea carton.

Ben

1.0 cu ft picture carton
32 x 22 x 3
81 x 56 x 8

2.0 cu ft book carton
18 x 18 x 10
46 x 46 x 25

3.0 cu ft export carton
18 x 19 x 16
48 x 47 x 40

3.0 cu ft golf carton
13 x 9 x 47
33 x 23 x119

4.0 cu ft china carton
18 x 18 x 20
46 x 46 x 51

4.0 cu ft clothes carton
36 x 18 x 10
91 x 46 x 25

4.5 cu ft tea carton
17 x 19 x 25
42 x 49 x 64

6.0 cu ft linen carton
18 x 18 x 30
46 x 46 x 76

9.0 cu ft bike carton
53 x 10 x 31
133 x 25 x 79
