if you call hsbc international, they will send you a pack containing all the application forms and a guide. i don't have the number with me (although it is in another post). off the top of my head, you need a driving licence, passport, and debit card with you full name, not just initials. they were very specific about this! basically, each piece of ID is worth different points and in total you need to reach 100.

the 100 points test applies other places as well - they all have their own requirements ...but best guage is ATO - Page 4 of the following document -TFN Tax file number

http://www.ato.gov.au/content/downlo...cationform.pdf

I tried to copy here but came out worse than my speeling!

At first - if going out to try and sort things..carry passport, proof of address and another form of photo id (to start this might be UK driving licence....no worries it is the photo that counts).

Not that this counts from your question....but as soon as you have a bank account or a bill coming to your home address in your name put it in your bag (men - jacket pocket) it is a form of id and you might just need it on top of passport and photo id.

Have fun

sorry also meant to say get any bill you can coming to a specific address with your name on it, utility bill, etc

This seems a bit of arse about face...but we had a temp address and got the UK mastercard bill sent to us.

Take originals out with you...not photocopies (certified or not, they do not count)
