Question £Stg Bank account when in Oz?????

We are moving to North Queensland area in September and as we have a healthy pot of pounds thought that we would hold the vast majority of it in a sterling account until the exchange rate improves. (We will not need until we find a house we want to buy).

I have read a few threads where people have experienced problems with their bank accounts in the UK and then having to authorise transactions in person (bit of a problem when you are in Oz).

Anyone know of any good banks that offer this service and good rates. Any advice/guidance very much appreciated!

Sainsbury's Internet Saver is managed on-line, so you can transfer to, for example, Ozforex, electronically. They currently pay 6.25% interest. Nationwide Isaver is similar, and is linked to their Flex account, so you can withdraw cash in Oz with no fees. They pay (I think) 5.8% at the moment.
